The Parish Council has been concerned for years about the state of the footway on King Lane from its junction with Alwoodley Lane to the entrance to Golden Acre Park.
This road is a major walking and cycling route out of Leeds into the surrounding countryside, yet the footway is unsurfaced, very narrow and in parts is very close to the road.
Leeds City Council had an expensive scheme to make a new footpath and cycleway but this has been postponed indefinitely because of the cost.
The Parish Council persuaded Leeds City Council to carry out some surface repairs to the footway, but they are not a long term solution and the Parish Council will continue its efforts to get a safe footway on this road.
