Parish Council Clerk
Alwoodley Parish Council services the residents of Alwoodley, Leeds. The council is active in promoting the welfare of the community and conducts its business in a transparent manner.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can demonstrate strong administrative experience, sound operational knowhow and financial management.
You are the key to the effective operation of the council, both in terms of helping to manage and execute the main aspects of its operations, and providing informed, impartial and professional advice.
You will be managing the finances of the council, progressing contracts and services, monitoring expenditure, income and receipts and regularly reporting to the council on budgets and spend.
Applicants will have a positive attitude and be able to communicate effectively at all levels. The ability to inspire, motivate and develop excellent working relationships with both councillors and residents is essential. Ideally you will have experience in a local government environment or in a similar role.
This post is for 20 hours per month and you will be mainly working from home although there is an office facility. Our monthly meetings are held in the Alwoodley Community Association on the first Monday of each month and applicants will need to be available for evening meetings which will form part of your contracted hours.
Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with or working towards the CiLCA qualification. Hours: 20 per month subject to review. Salary: SCP 29 – 32 £20.02 / £21.52 per hour (equivalent to £38,626 / £41,511pa) based upon qualifications and experience.
