The Parish Council wanted to secure the large field on King Lane, opposite The Avenue, as a permanent green space and recreational facility for the community. Leeds City Council have assured us that it is safe from future development as it has five levels of protection and we have now been allowed to call it our Village Green.
It’s home to the playground, fitness equipment, Jubilee Garden and picnic benches and has been the venue for the Jubilee Fun Day and the first Brass Band Concert. We hope this green space will continue to be used by the community for many years to come.
